Meet the Comedians
Jon has been performing comedy since 2019, and started organising shows in Salzburg in 2021, with a group that would ultimately become Alpine Fools!
Jon has become known for his theatre-based sketch-style. On any given night, you can hear him acting out scenes from his life, whether that's learning German, fighting with birds, navigating bachelorette parties, or at the chess board. He uses his background of improv theatre to keep things lively and energetic. In 2022, he performed his first 1-hour solo show.
Mike’s comedy blends storytelling with expressionism, taking audiences from his childhood in post-communist Romania to his life in Western culture.
Known among the Alpine Fools as “the Romanian Jack Black,” he mixes stand-up with hilarious musical numbers, including his unforgettable song Leberkase Love. Since moving to Salzburg in 2018, Mike quickly rose in the comedy scene, launching his first solo show in 2022 and touring Austria with performances in Graz, Linz, Vienna, and his home base, Salzburg.

His hometown in Yorkshire invented reflective road-markers and an execution device called a 'gibbet'. This dichotomy has heavily influenced his world view.
His favourite crowds are ones with a desire to imagine and laugh like a giggling child having satsumas bounced off of its face.
Hailing from India (as she mentions every time on stage), Isha talks about the cultural differences between India and Austria, and the daily experiences of living in Salzburg.
She decided to do stand-up comedy after two glasses of wine, thinking "What's the worst that could happen?"
Two years later, she is doing comedy and living for the attention on stage as part of the growing community of Alpine Fools.
Markus has been with us from the very beginning – he started doing comedy in 2020, although he would add that telling jokes, however unnecessary and inappropriate, has been part of his personality for as long as he can remember. His style is a mixture of witty one-liners, absurd takes and sometimes a dive into dark material. If you need a Trump impressionist, Markus is your guy – after all, that’s what got him the third place of the Austria’s Best New Comedian competition in 2025!
Mike had to develop a sense of humour to survive in the cultural wasteland of Greater London suburbia. Fed on dry wit, absurdity and mockery, he developed a taste for being the centre of attention and making people laugh became his favourite thing.
Mike arrived in the Salzburg comedy scene in 2025. His style is sharp, scenic and most of the time, utterly senseless. Mostly his routines appear to be some kind of therapy, but really he'd love to use humour to make the world a better place.
Samantha Lackner is an Austrian-based comedian from Arizona whose act blends sharp wit, psychology, and cosmic chaos. Mixing sex appeal with self-awareness, she turns everything from alien conspiracies to relationship meltdowns into fearless, clever comedy. Known for her magnetic stage presence and unpredictable humor, Samantha runs and performs at mics in Linz, and is a proud member of the Alpine Fools comedy collective in Salzburg.
Being 19, Natalie is one of the newer members of the human population and subsequently the Alpine Fools. Natalie builds her comedy around her life and her passions such as Austrian Sign Language.
She also claims to be the “Senior Intern of Alpine Fools Youth Social Media Market Research”, although it is suspected that she is a diversity hire as she knows nothing about social media or the youth.
Being 30+++ is reason enough to start doing comedy.
Being Russian is the second-best reason.
She could easily write three or four different biographies — and one of them already includes more than ten years of life and business experience in Austria.
That alone is enough material for an entire set.
Elena loves entertaining audiences — making them laugh and, at the same time, leave feeling a little more optimistic.
Just look at her — it’s never too late!
Felix is a Salzburg city local with a special affinity for puns and pop culture. His performances are a mixture of storytelling, absurd humor and the occasional celebrity impression. As a big fan of improv comedy, every now and then he likes to involve the audience.The very first comedy night at Narrencastl bar in September of 2021 also marks Felix' comedy debut. Since then he has become a regular performer and show host. The only thing brighter than his bald head may be his future on stage.
Just a few months after moving to Salzburg in 2023, one of Alvina's first actions was to join a promising young comedy group at the local Narrencastl bar.
Sharing stories on stage about her upbringing in Armenia, her vivid therapy sessions and what it means to be a long term single in Austria, Alvina has since become a regular performer of Alpine Fools.
Besides traditional stand-up comedy methods, she has found creative ways to share her stories with the help of her trusty ukulele and elaborate powerpoint presentations.
Guillem González started doing stand-up comedy because of his middle-age crisis—maybe he should have started climbing, like men his age do.
Onstage, he likes embarrassing himself and making everyone uncomfortable, but also political jokes and observational humor about skinny jeans or stereotypes.
Not only a comedian, he’s also a writer who loves telling people he’s a writer. Did he tell you he’s a writer? Well, believe him because he wrote this: he‘s a writer.
If his act is funnier than bouldering, he‘ll be satisfied.
Ashton has been doing stand-up comedy for just over a year now after moving to Salzburg from the land of the long white cloud - New Zealand!
He comes from a background in drama and theatre (kind of), and thought that because he moved to a new country he would try out some stand up comedy “to meet some people” so he spends most of his time on stage trying to make friends.
He is also know for being the Alpha of the Alpine Fools Comedy Group, a self-proclaimed title.
Swathi has been an entertainer since a young age. She believes it comes with the territory of being the youngest child in the family. A date once told her, “You’re so small but your humour’s so big, you could rent a garage space for it.”
She started doing standup comedy in early 2025. Her inspiration was a comedian who was so bad, she thought, “If he can do it, I definitely can do it!” She’s sarcastic, dramatic, and full of life on stage.
Since she was a little girl, Francesca wanted to be famous. She didn’t excel at sciences, ruling out the Nobel Prize in Chemistry, so she turned to the humanities, first aspiring to be a journalist and then giving up altogether for a life as a bureaucrat.
Deep in her 30s, she finally made her dad laugh at one of her jokes and promptly decided she was already one of the greats. She started comedy soon after. She is still not famous.
Tim is the grand old man of the Salzburg comedy scene.
Expect cynicism by the bucketful, humourless and embittered rants about the inadequacies of young people, and updates on his navigation of the online dating scene for the middle aged. Tim has an irrational hatred of Dubai so, if he asks, pretend you've never been there.
Louise Amazonia Fennel ended up in Austria in 2011 after getting lost during a bike tour of Europe. She still hasn't found her way home. Louise got into comedy in summer 2024 when life got tough and she needed something to laugh about.
After watching just about all the comedy videos on Youtube she could find, she decided to have a go herself, developing her own sweetly mischievous brand of comedy, delivered with her unique wit and charm.
Alex has been doing comedy for about 4 years, but been telling jokes for fun for 5 years now.
Born and raised in Germany, then raised some more in Canada, he hopes to do what all Germans aim to do: make people laugh.
